A Front Row to History

As Election Day in the USA quickly approaches I am finding myself holding my breath, excited to see the results. I have long learned not to under estimate the american voter but if 538.com is right with their electoral simulation predictions, then Obama will be the next President of the United States. Indeed if their predictions are correct then, even with 46.6% of the popular vote, McCain has only a 3.8% chance of winning.

History will ultimately be the judge of the next POTUS, but I believe that one voice can change the world; I dream it will be for the better, for everyone every where. Certainly the last eight years has not been that great.

Latest polling trends indicate that McCain has picked up some serious steam, and thank God for that.

I suggest you spend more time looking into Obama's past record and his policies (what little he acknowledges in public anyways).

Obama makes Stephen Dion look like a a right-of-centre Liberal.

Dream on, if it's Obama who wins. It will accomplish one thing for sure, it will wake up Americans, to a nightmare.

explain to me how you can think of yourself as a conservative when you are encouraging the election of the most left leaning nominee for president in history are you just pro affirmative action or what

Whoa angry conservatives!

Do you really think anything will change in USA even if Obama wins? They dont have enough will to actually change. It does not matter who wins.

I have to agree it does not matter if he wins, my point is this, most have forgoten, the american political system is not republicans and democrats only, its conservatives and liberals, forget about the super majority they have been talking about....there is a lot of conservative democrats....whos electorate, will never agree with distribute the wealth, and lets face facts, the ones idea of passing on the wealth is taking from those bad rich white folks and giving to the poor black ones, thats the type of people he has been haging around with for 20 years...conservative democrats dont like his policies, they just hate bush more....

I have to agree, how can one call themselves a conservative and turn their back on McCain and then run into the arms of Obama? I don't get it? (real conservative)

Holy comments batman! :) Nice to see readers engaged!

It would be unfair to say that I don't like McCain - I do think he is a good candidate, I just think that Obama is a better candidate. Since I am Canadian I get to judge candidates and not have to worry too much about their parties. That being said I could also say that Dion was not the worst Candidate and I certainly don't see him or his party as being way out in left field. I just didn't like him or his platform. Don't really see Harper as being any extreme kind of "right" either.

Interestingly enough, if I were to move to the USA I don't know if I would be a Dem or a Rep. I tend to be fairly moderate myself and like to think/consider all options before making a choice. I think that I would be in the mass of undecided's as a general rule.

I think that if Obama wins then america will have a new way of looking at things internally and externally. I think that it is history in the making and that is exciting. That's what I like - hope, empowerment and change, because whatever has happened (and I have never been a Bush fan) these past 8 yrs needs to be laid to rest.

All in all this is the first USA election I have been this interested in, and I have to say that it has been Obama (and that youtube speech) that hooked me.

Happy Election Eve everyone!
