The Moment That It All Began
"Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it."
The Americans are trying to choose the next leader of the free world. Picture Barack in one corner and, for instance, Vladimir Putin in the other corner. Obama seems too naive and inexperienced to counter and stand up to the ruthless leaders of the world. They would eat him alive.
He is a good orator, but it sounds like what he is calling for is more government, not less.
It is dangerous to write a blank cheque to a leader. 'Change' can mean anything.
Given that we are just at the beginning of the Primaries I don't think anyone is trying to crown him president. However I thought this speech was amazing - and anyone would be wrong to underestimate Obama.
And I think he would do fine on the world scene- but theres still a long way to go.
Obama is a very good public speaker and he represents change from the "two clan" dominated u.s political scene. Perhaps he would be a sure winner if he so much as detailed what he means exactly by change

I think he sounds brilliant, revolutionary even.
