best rides at Disneyland IMHO: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (best after dark -- sit at the back of the train) and Space Mountain ...

Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones are also staples of course. I'm jealous of your post-leadership escape! ;-)

We did Universal Studios last winter and it was a blast - hope you enjoy Disneyland as much as we did the Studios!
Space Mountain for me, although I'm pretty excited about the Tower of Terror moved to Disneyland. As well Indy is a supreme staple for me too.
I'm just looking forward to discovering who my husband and kids are again!
