A Bitter End to a Sweet Playoff Run
I have to say it, the Edmonton Oiler's were amazing this season. To fight to play in game seven of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is no small feat - and fight they did, every single game. While it is a little diappointing not to be welcoming home the Stanley Cup, Edmonton welcomes home it's heros who took our dreams and meshed them with their own. Good Job Oilers!

In the third period... three minutes to go... the Hurricanes on the verge of history and Stanley is in the building being "prepped."

Open to the Thrust of Grace
You never get to stop and open your eyes
One minute you’re waiting for the sky to fall
The next you’re dazzled by the beauty of it all
These fragile bodies of touch and taste
This fragrant skin this hair like lace
Spirits open to the thrust of grace
Never a breath you can afford to waste
When you’re lovers in a dangerous time
Sometimes you’re made to feel as if your loves a crime
Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight
Got to kick at the darkness ‘til it bleeds daylight
When you’re lovers in a dangerous time
These lyrics jumped out at me on the bus today. Each line of the song a truth that impacted my awareness of events in my life. Whether the experience is of actual love, politics, religion, busy hurried schedules or thoughts of our own mortality This is one of those songs that applies to everything - revealing one small truth that if heeded makes life so much better.
Slow down and take some time to really see how good life is all around you, while you have the chance to.

Checking Out The Prey
But my camera could never do this. It's not quick enough, the zoom/focus is not powerful enough and it takes too long between pictures (while writing the files). That's just the reality of a point and shoot camera...
But I want to be able to do this! You should check out the rest of his pictures too. They are all beautiful!

Practical Reality is a Rural P.O.V.
So I'm talking with my best friend (on Vancouver Island) this evening when the conversation turns from her horse Levi to her 2 month old laying chickens, of whom she is very proud. She got them at Easter time and has been patiently tending to them - they won't be old enough to lay eggs until September.
This "matter of fact" part of the conversation made me laugh:
- Dawn: "You should see my new chicken's - they're growing very nicely!"
- Allie: "Are you worried about Bird Flu at all?"
- Dawn: "No..."
- Allie: "What are you going to do when Bird Flu makes it to Canada?"
- Dawn: "Chop off all their heads."
- Allie: "Oh..."

Temptation... How You Mock Me...
So I am just sitting here at home minding my own business and I see this bus pull up outside my house and park so the bus driver could get out and run across the road to the convenience store. There's no one else on the bus, the doors open and the engine is running.
I'm pretty sure I can drive a bus.
