I am WOMAN hear me ROAR!

So I was ripped off on eBay by this Jack Toomer guy, owner of comicsbytheweb.com. Back in June I won about 18 Star Wars miniatures from him totalling about 104.00 USD and I paid right away, via Paypal.

But I never got anything but empty promises that he would send me my stuff and that I should trust him and give him a chance. Being the person that I am I did give him a chance, but lo and behold once the deadline for filing a dispute with Pay pal (to get a refund) had passed I didn't hear from this Jack guy anymore. I sent him a bill through Pay Pal and several requests for a refund, but all have been ignored.

I can tell by his eBay feed back I am not the only one this has happened to. But that doesn't make me feel any better, so I filed an complaint against Jack and his "company" with the Internet Fraud Complaint Centre (run in partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center) for my loss of $102.67 USD.

Yep, I filed a complaint with the FBI. I was hoping that I might get my money back and that they could stop him from ripping off other people too. AND look what happened...

FEEL MY WRATH COMICSBYTHEWEB.

You picked the wrong eBayer to piss off.

I bought a "I voted Democrat" blue bracelet once. I still have yet to receive that damned thing. Thank god I only paid $1.50 for it.

:-)

Heh. If it was 1.50 I might not care, but there's principle involved here, and well, I appear to be a tad dangerous with some spare time on my hands ;-)

You go girl! Yeah! I got ripped off too by somebody on ebay (who had a pretty good rating when I was bidding but right about the time I won my bid, suddenly went south on a bunch of people) It was only for 99 cents, but I did the whole complaint thing. Dammit, it's the principle, not the money... well, okay, in your case, it's the money too... Kick his ass!

Very nice! I've never been totally ripped off, but I've had to really badger some of the auctioneers that I've bought from. I guess it's an inherent flaw in a system that, essentially, relies on trust and human decency.

e-Bay has cancelled his account as well... lets hope they have some way of making sure he doesn't come back under a new name.

Wow Steve thats sure some picture to be brought here by (blush). I am glad you came anyway and enjoyed it, and feel free to come back.

As far as Pay Pal Buyer Protection went you have to file (under normal circumstances) within 45 days, and this Seller kept asking me to wait, to trust him, you now that kind of thing, until it was long past Pay Pal deadlines. I did file anyway but it was immediatly deffered, and I noticed just last week that they had decided (I imagine this Seller has a lot of complaints) to open up those defered complaints to investigate them. I doubt anything will come of it though.

And yes, his feedback... if you go to his page you'll notice that he had almost perfect comments before whatever happened happened. Just one of those risks we take every day.
